A newborn baby usually has a bluish or purple kind of color, but it will turn red, signing that the blood circulation runs well. Some babies born with a white thin layer skin called Vernics, that will go away it self in few days. Some babies also born with wrinkle and scaly skin, it’s ok, you don’t need to put anything like lotion to it, because a new skin will come up in few days.
Taking care of your newborn baby delicate skin is something you have to be careful of. If you choose the wrong cosmetics or wrong way, it would end up hurting your baby.
Basically, a newborn baby doesn’t need any soap, or shampoo for bathing, all s/he needs is clean water and a soft washcloth, because soap and shampoo only will cause irritation skin and dry skin. Baby oil and lotion are not recommended too, because mineral oil will cause the baby skin unable to breathe. But that doesn’t happen to all babies, only those who have sensitive skin.
Those that contained in Baby cosmetics like : mineral oil, fragrance, sodium laurel sulfate, FD&C dyes or pigments, sodium borate or boric acid are chemical toxics that babies don’t need.
